Greece Community School: Campus-Wide CCTV & Network Infrastructure
Nano Computing & ICT Solutions was commissioned by Greece Community School in Addis Ababa to design and deploy a complete security surveillance system and multi-building network backbone. The installation safeguards hundreds of students, monitors vehicle drop-off gates, covers sports fields, and interconnects academic blocks with multi-screen guardhouse monitoring.

The Operational Challenge
The school campus features multiple detached academic buildings separated by courtyards, sports areas, and parking facilities. Running standard copper Ethernet cables outdoors across long distances between buildings would exceed the 100-meter limit and expose hardware to lightning surges during Addis Ababa's rainy season. Furthermore, installation work had to proceed without interrupting classes or student activities.
Our Engineering Solution
We engineered an optical fiber backbone linking the separate academic blocks to the central administration server room, providing lightning-isolated, gigabit transmission speeds. Outdoor cameras were deployed with long-range infrared illumination (up to 60m) covering perimeter walls and play areas. Cabling and ceiling work inside hallways was executed during holiday recesses and after-school hours to guarantee zero disruption to learning.
Verifiable Project Outcomes
- Total visibility across campus perimeter fences, student walkways, and vehicle drop-off gates.
- Real-time dual-screen console provided to security personnel at the main gate for active visitor supervision.
- Secure administrative console for the principal with encrypted mobile streaming for weekend and holiday oversight.
- Enhanced safety standards reassuring parents and meeting international educational safety accreditations.
“The safety of our students is our highest priority. Nano Computing provided an organized, reliable surveillance and network system that gives our security team total situational awareness across the campus.”
